We are pleased to invite you to participate in the 5th International Conference for Young Scientists on Differential Equations and Applications dedicated to Ya. B. Lopatynsky. The Conference continues the series of biannual international conferences for young scientists which were initiated by the team of Differential Equations Department of Donetsk National University in 2006.
The Conference will be held in the Institute of Mathematics of NAS of Ukraine, Kyiv, from 9-th to 11-th of November, 2016.
The 5-th Conference will be dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the outstanding mathematician, talented pedagogue and organizer, Academician of NAS of Ukraine, Yaroslav Borisovich Lopatynsky. He was a founder of two Departments of Differential Equations, in Lviv National University (1953) and in Donetsk National University (1966). He also founded the Department of Partial Differential Equations in the Institute of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics of NAS of Ukraine. That is why previous conferences were held in Lviv (2010) and Donetsk (2006, 2008, 2012).
This year the geography of this series of conferences is expanded. The 5-th Conference will be held in Kyiv, the center of our country. This is symbolic, because the mathematical community should be united. Especially we should be united in our quest to establish fruitful creative relationships between various mathematical communities not only in our country, but around the world, in our quest to improve the connection of Ukrainian mathematical science to the world. The life and work of Ya. B. Lopatynsky were devoted to this noble objective.
We will be glad to meet you in Kyiv!
With best regards,
Organizing Committee
The main focus of the conference will be on following areas
- Boundary value problems for various classes of PDEs, Partial Differential Operators, Lopatynsky condition;
- Nonlinear boundary value problems;
- Calculus of Variations;
- Methods of analysis, operator methods, algebraic, geometrical and topological methods in the theory of differential equations;
- Mathematical physics;
- Ordinary differential equations and dynamical systems, optimal control;
- Applications of differential equations, numerical methods, mathematical and computer modeling.
The conference program will include plenary lectures (preliminary list of main speakers will be provided later) and sectional talks of young participants.
